FREE records management technology for Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services users now shipping

New 80-20 Retention Server reduces legal liabilities by managing the
retention lifecycle of electronic documents and emails

MELBOURNE — 31 January, 2006 — 80-20 Software today announced the release of 80-20 Retention Server™, a free add-on for Microsoft’s Windows® SharePoint Services designed to manage the retention lifecycle of electronic documents and emails.

Legislation like the US Sarbanes-Oxley Act, E-Sign and HIPAA mean most businesses are now required to keep business records for defined time periods and be able to produce them on request to a government regulator or a court. Retention Server’s electronic document retention capability is a vital foundation to the implementation of comprehensive corporate governance and compliance programs for enterprises using Windows SharePoint Services.
